The Subway is an underground space in Raleigh that housed several music clubs in the 1970's and 1980's; it reopened for one night to host a charity benefit event on May 16, 2015. Attendees heard live music, saw a fashion show, ate, drank, danced and played games and took pictures of the few remaining wall murals from times gone by. Many well known bands including R.E.M., Huey Lewis and the News and The Go-Go's played here in its heyday. Arrogance and The Fabulous Knobs were local favorites who played regularly.
